Day 5-A photo of yourself from when you were young
I don't know how old I am here. I'm pretty sure this was at a Simmons Family Reunion though. Those sure were fun. I like this picture because it makes me feel like my daughter actually does have some of me in her. My childhood me and my daughter could be sisters! Love my clothing choice. Humpty Dumpty is the best!Thursday, January 20, 2011
Day 4- Your Favorite Photgraph of your Best Friend
Autumn is my baby girl. She is who I hang out with all day. She makes me feel of worth. She laughs and coos as I sing and dance around the kitchen putting the dishes away. She snuggles when she's tired. She puts her sweet chubby hands on my heart and looks into my eyes. I know she loves me. She knows I love her. My Lovely Momma. She always makes me feel special. She told me once that I was the calm in her storm from the day I was born. She made me want to serve others. She taught me to make peace, not contention. She set an amazing example of rightiousness for me to follow. She taught me how to be a mother...the most important thing a person can do in this life.
My silly sisters! The oldest, Rebecca and Rachael, that I always looked up to and wished I could be as cool and as pretty as. Juli, the one who was more like a twin that just a regular sister. We not only shared a room our whole lives, but also secrets, friends, clothes and everything else. Then my little sisters Sara and Hannah, they always made me want to be a good example. And then there is my new sister, Brooke, who is always sharing with me- Her mom, her clothes, her fashion sense, her secrets, her music, she even gave Logan and I her room. I love sisters!
My girls from school- Brit, Linds, Cassi, and Myth. Brit and Myth were my very best friends going through school. We started in orientation together, then sat by eachother out on the floor. They were there for me when I felt like I had no other friends. We got eachother through the dreadful hours we had to put in. All three of us were pregnant at the same time and shared in that new phase of life. Brit is someone who I can call anytime I need someone. She is so fun to hang out with because her son is 1 month older than Autumn. So she's alwasy just a step ahead of me on the mom thing and helps me adjust to all the new things that come my way.Teesh n' Chris. Besties in the 9th grade. We would meet at the stop sign half way between out houses to play every day. We would wait for the bus in her kitchen. We would eat Top Ramen! She helped me babysit and do my chores. I let her share my sister Julianna. We would walk home from school and go "puddle jumpin'" in the rain. We would make up songs and dances. We would sleep in till noon when we had sleepovers at her house. We would walk home from church and decline all of the offers for rides home on our way. Besties. Still.
Heather and Stacey! What a threesome we made. Best friends since the 8th grade. Heather and I ran cross country and track together. We took all the same classes. We dated the same boys (they usually dumped me for her. haha). She helped me through hard times with running, break ups, she is such a great listener. She helped me with calculous and history. She is so smart. She motivated me to stay in shape. She is always in such great shape.
Stacey and I met in gym class, and that pretty much sums up what we did whenever we hung out. We obsessed over working out together. During the summer we would both leave our houses at the same time (approx. 5 miles apart) and meet half way on a run. We would run back to Stacey's and lay out on the trampoline and make turkey and mustard sandwiches on wheat bread. We were alwasy trying to get a 6-pack. We would lay on the floor in the commons and lunch and rate guys butts (really we were just rating the pants they were wearing...) Stacey and I always dated the same guys too. We were always into the same type-tall and skinny. We both married pretty tall slim guys! :) We went to college together. We went to dance parties together and showed off our moves (we love dancing!). We will always be close. My Kacer Facer. Sister. Best friend FOREVER. Kacee and are were unexpected friends. She was a grade younger than me and way more popular than I was. We met running on the track at Lone Peak High. When she was a sophomore and I was a junior we connected. We were the only two girls that came to the summer practice for cross country consistantly. She was much faster, but somehow we still ran together lots! During our runs we bonded! She became more of a sister than a friend. Her family was like my 2nd family. She gets me, she knows me more than possibly anyone (except for Logan). She is the person that I miss the most since our paths have split. I miss being close.
And you can't have Kacee with out Jazzer! My little Jasmyn Kapree. "I'm only 13"..."It's 98 degrees out here and SunShiney!"...."Skank" My favorite memory with Jasmyn is when we watched "The Notebook" out in my garage and we squished into a bike baby carrier for half the movie before we decided it was too cramped and we made a bed on the garage floor with tons of blankets for the rest of the movie. Jasmyn is beautiful and determined. She is kind. She has such a great sense of humor. I miss hanging out with her so much. Lauren and Lara will forever be life long friends. Lauren Elizabeth and I "Finish eachothers...sentances" "You can shave your back now skeez" "Just Eat Raw, You'll get better" "I'll wrestle you for him" and many more weird inside jokes. She was the friend who came over everyweekend I had to babysit and made it into a party. Infact the first time we ever hung out we were both babysitting our brothers at my house and we got pizza and watched movies and had a blast! It just became tradition after that. She was there for me no matter what I was going through. When she moved to Chilie in our Junior year for foriegn exchange I felt so alone. She is such a spiritual girl and always has an amazing outlook on life, and a super funny personality. I have never laughed so hard as when I'm with Lauren. And it's the real kind of laugh, the kind where you stomach hurts and your head is thrown way back and you almost pee your pants everytime. That's the kind of friend she was, is, and always will be!
Lara is a babe! She was always the beautiful friend, but not just on the outside. She is such a great person. She always knew what to do when it came to boys. It it wasn't for her I never would have made it through my wedding night. She is the only friend that I felt comfortable talking about "adult" things with before I participated in them. She has just always been a step ahead and can therefore give great advice! She is inteligent, and driven, and makes me want to be successful too! She is a good friend.
Annie was my "best friend" when I went up to Weber State. She was attending BYU and we would talk on the phone like four times a day. We had a point system that we would report to eachother at the end of the day. I would get points for not flirting and she would get points for flirting. She knew Logan better than any of my friends because she would come up and hang out with us when we were dating. I thought Logan was the boy version of Annie and he was therefore perfect. So funny, so fun, so hot! :) Annie is so much fun, you always have fun and laugh a lot when you are with her. I miss hanging out with her mucho. Happy Thursday Annie Girl!

Day 3-You're Idea of a Perfect First Date
It's all a little blurry now of what our first date actually was. So I'll just tell you about the first weekend of dates. Logan first took me out on a Thursday night. I rember being very excited. I couldn't belive my luck. How on earth did I score a date with the cutest guy in any of my college classes. He came to my grandparents house, where I was living at the time. I can still remember what he was wearing. He had on his favorite gray skinny jeans and a white sweatshirt with colored squares on it (that makes it sound weird but it's acutlly really cute! It's my favorite item of clothing he owns). He looked really good. Then we went out to his car, It was a black mazda protege. I wasn't really into the hatch back cars back then and I remember thinking "He drives that car?" Now I think his car is perfect for him. Anyways this is getting too deatailed. For our first night hanging out/our first date? we went to a soft ball game.
Let me back up a little...The first night we ever really talked and the night he got my number was the tuesday before we hung out. I was at institute and we ended up going out to wingers with a bunch of people after institute. After I went home we texted for awhile. He asked me about where I was from and how I liked it in Kaysville. He asked me about what I did durning the week. I didn't really do anything. I didn't know anyone and so I would go to school, come home, do homework, have dinner with my grandparents, watch the news or whatever my grandma was watching, pick out my outfit for the next day, then go to bed. (I don't think I gave him all of those details). Then he proceeded to tell me about his week. He and all of his friends were busy. Mondays=FHE, Tuesdays=Institute and dinner at Wingers, Wednesday=Simming or Bowling, Thursday=Softball game at barns park, Friday=Dates Then he told me I was welcome to join them anytime I wanted to and he asked me to come to the softball game the following Thursday with him. Now fast forward back to the game...
So some of his friends played in the games on a city team and the rest of them went to watch and cheer. We made posters that said "True Fans" and brought snacks. It was pretty fun. It was October and pretty cold outside so we brought big blankets and snuggled up in them together. I was determined to not be shy just because I didn't know anyone. I wanted him to see who I am, and how I am. So I put myself out there. I cheered like crazy and we talked and laughed, I joked with his friends. I felt very comfortable with him.
After the game was over we went to Thom Haslams house (One of his friends that played on the softball team). We couldn't decide what to do forever and we ended up watching The Office and then we watched the movie Dejavou. During The Office I was determined to keep my distance from him. I didn't want to end up holding his hand or something.
Let's back up again for a second...I was a little torn on having a crush on Logan because I had a boyfriend. I was dating Grey Lund, he lived across the street from my parents. I went home almost every weekend to hang out with him. We had broken up when I moved to up school, but we were still pretty much together. He had been texting me the whole night while I was at the softball game with Logan and I was feeling really torn. I really liked Grey...but I was also having a great time with Logan and I was totally crushing on him. Okay back to Thoms house...
I was wearing a hoodie so I had my hands in the front pocket, far away from any temptations (I am a hand holding slut, I just love holding hands and can't help but want to during a movie). But then we started Dejavou. We moved to the upstairs movie room for that one. When Logan sat down he sat a lot closer than he had during The Office. By the end of the movie I was laying on his shoulder and his hand was on his leg just sitting there so inviting. I am proud to say that I was stronger than the temptation that night. I did not hold his hand. But I knew he had wanted to. He had slowly run his finger up and down the outside of my leg after the movie while we were all talking. I was freaking out inside. I had butterflies galour! I couldn't believe that this guy might actually be interested in me....me!
The next night we did somthing of my choice. We went CLASSIC SKATING! I missed skating. I went with Kacee, Annie, Cait, James and Grey almost every weekend the summer before college. Logan thought it sounded fun. A coulple of his friends met us there. I wore my crazy classic skating dress (the orange and pink and white one from the 70's or something) and had the best time. Logan was a good skater, I was totally impressed. There was an arcade there also so we played a few games. He won me a little plastic ring (a ring that later ended up being my engagement ring until we earned the money for my Diamond!). We skated till they closed. It was so fun. He would grab my hands and spin me around and send me flyin' around the skate floor. Afterwards we went to his house. We watched The Office in the basement with Jaren and Cortnie. Logan and I sat in the love sack. And this night I could not resist the temptation. It took the entire show and I was getting so frustrated. Why hadn't he held my hand yet. I wanted to. We played the little finger game for a mintute where our pinkie's touched and then he finally held my hand! It was a great feeling. He had nice hands too. Not all sweaty, not too dry and scratchy either though. I fell asleep smiling that night.
On Saturday night is when he officially asked me out on a date. He took me to dinner (I don't remember where) and then we went to the Gateway. We shopped for new clothes for him for his new job. He tried them on and modled for me! He was so cute I coudln't stand it! We went to Dicks Sporting Goods at the gateway and did the rock climbing wall. I remeber feeling pretty awesome becasue I do have some experience rock climbing and I think he was pretty impressed. Then it was his turn. He was actually nervous and I found it endearing. We took pictures on his cell phone and walked around holding hands. It felt like we were a real couple. We met up with one of his best friends from high school, Levi, and his fiance, Carolyn. We went to the Clark Plantarium and saw a show at the imax theater called "The sounds of the Underground." that night we thought the show was awesome. But we went to it a second time a few weeks later and realized it was really stupid. We must have both just been on a happy high from being with eachtother and holding hands and all that. Not even a stupid show could ruin our first date, we thought it was great! I don't remember how the rest of the night went. If he took me home, or if we went to his house and watched another movie...I can't remeber. But that was our first weekend of dating and hanging out! It was awesome and we were pretty much inseperable after that first weekend. We kissed the following week and were engaged a few months later. It just happend so fast, but I loved every minute of it!
