Day 2: Tell Us about your Job

I am really lucky when it comes to what I do for my profession. I get to make people look good! I get to take a blank canvas and create somthing beautiful! I am a Hair Stylist. I work at Olde Mill Salon in Layton. I graduated from Stacey's Hands of Champions Beauty College in December of 2009. My first job was at Supercuts in Kaysville, I worked there until I had Autumn. I enjoyed Supercuts for the most part, but I mostly just did kids hair cuts and mens hair cuts. That job helped me to become faster and more efficient, but what Supercuts lacked what the creative side of doing hair. They taught you every hair cut, you had to do it their way. I missed being creative and putting my touch into a cut, a style or a color. Not to mention that I never did any colors, who goes to Supercuts for a color? A crazy person that is really cheap, that's who. (Sorry if you've gone there for one, not trying to be rude.) After my maternaty leave I found a new salon that is a much better fit for me!

THESE ARE THE FUN PEOPLE I WORK WITH!
Jessie
Heather
Tony (he doesn't do hair, he is our receptionist and also my Boss's son) and Jessie again
Emily
Brit
My lovely Boss Lynn and in her chair is our amazing Waxer Kelli (she is the best at brazians! You should get one from her! :)
Bre, Myself and Emily
I love our little Salon. It's cozy and people feel comfortable there. I love our stations, we all have big beautiful mirrors and beautiful tables. Overall I think our salon is great, I wouldn't mind doing a little redecorating though. Emily and I are always coming up with new little things for the salon, little ways to make it better, more organized and more comfortable. The salon is also a full supply which is really nice, so our clients can get all of their home care and maintainance things in one stop!

I really enjoy my work, although it is a little slow. I'm building my clientel right now. I have quite a few regular clients, but when you only get your hair done every 6-8 weeks you have to have A LOT of regulars to keep your days filled up. I work on Wednesdays, Fridays and every other Saturday from 9-5. It's a great schedule for me because I get to be home with Autumn a lot, and I'm keeping up on my skill. I get my social fill for the most part too, which is great.

My favorite things to do are colors and updos. But if you get a color you better let me cut and style it too! I want to see the finished product! There is nothing worse than a color that walks out the door with wet hair. I don't even know what it looks like dry! AH! But that rarely happens. Here are a few pictures of some of the things I have done...

30 Days of Blogging Begins

Day 1: A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was.

Today was a fun kind of Day. It was a Holiday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day to be exact. Logan had the day off of work and school. I always have Monday's off so it wasn't that different for me. Logan went snowboarding with Colby Bell, so Emily and I hung out while they were gone.

We went and saw "Tangled" I loved it! I love all Disney Princess movies. This one is my current favorite. My favorite part of the movie was when she finally got to see the lanterns floating in person, it was beautiful! I would love to see something like that in real life. It was Autumn's first time to the movie theater. She did pretty good. She only cried a little bit when she had a dirty diaper. After I changed it she sat happily on my lap for the duration of the movie!

After the movie, Emlily and I went to lunch at the Pizza Factory, which is currently my favorite resturant (a day of favorites apperantly). We both had the salad bar and a breadstick and it was delicious!!

After lunch we met up with Logan and Colby and went swimming at the Bountiful Rec. Center. It was kinda cold, but it was fun playing with Logan and Autumn. She got pretty adventerous by the end of day she was crawling all over the baby section and making friends with all sorts of cute kids! She especially likes boys, My baby girl is already a HUGE flirt and was giving me a lot of attitude. I would kiss her cheek and she would give me this look like, "mom we're in public, come on." Not kidding. Great, she's not even one yet.

After swimming we were pooped so we came home and I made us some Spaghetti and salad for dinner and then we had Family Home Evening and now we're getting ready for bed. I'm sure I'll fall right to sleep because I'm so stinkin' tired. Good night.

Sleep #2

Last week I wrote about how Autumn doesn't sleep well lately. Today I would like to update her sleeping habits! The last three nights she has once again been sleeping through the night. Each night she has been sleeping a little longer. Last night we put her to be at 9:30 and she didn't get up until about 9:00 this morning. It was a great night of sleep! Love my baby girl. Love it so much when she sleeps well, It makes us all a lot happier during the day.
P.S. Autumn and I are listening to primary songs right now as I am blogging and she is singing. Not words of course but she is doing little "ahhs and ooos" it is so sweet! I think she will love music, just like her mommy.

Sleep

The last week and a half Autumn has gotten into a new habit that I HATE. She has decided she does not need as much sleep as a normal person needs. She would rather get up at 2:00am every morning and play with her toys. Of course she will only play happily if mom is in there playing with her. I'm tired. I was up with her last night at 11 and then again at 2 but at 2 I stayed up with her until I finally got her to sleep around 4:30. I don't function well with out my sleep. I'm a zombie at work right now. Boo Autumn, learn to sleep through the night again baby girl. Please.

Goodbye 2010 you were good to us

I'd like to do a recap of our 2010 year but I don't remember all the details...I blame my memory loss on being a mom, you forget everything! So here is what I can remember from this year.

January- I got my Cosmetology Licence and started working at Supercuts. I was also in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy and getting HUGE! Logan was busy with full time work and a full schedule at Weber.

February- We moved out of my Gradparents basement into the condo in Centerville! We went to a "Birth Class" in preperation for the birth of Autumn. It freaked us out! (The videos of live births were horrible. This might sound just aweful, but everysingle one was of an obese woman giving birth...and it just wasn't something I ever wanted to see.) On a more positive note Logan's Desert Racing Season Started!

Logan putting our table and chairs together in our new kitchen!
This is a little sleeper that Logan bought for Autumn after we moved into our new house. He spent $30 on it and I kinda freaked out that he spent so much and took it back. But I also loved it and thought it was really sweet of him to get it, so i went back and got it again.

March-Lots of baby showers! So lots and lots of cute things for our little baby! I was getting so big and uncomfortable and tired of being on my feet full time at work. My last day of work at Supercuts was the 20th. Four days later our little bundle of joy arrived! Autumn was deliverd at 11:16pm she was 7.1 oz and 20 inches long. Happiest day of our lives so far!

Talisha and I both close to our due dates. Our Girls were born 10 days apart.

Autumn's first night

First family picture with Autumn...wish I looked better but oh well I guess that's what I get after 15+ hours of labor

April-We got to celebrate our first Holiday with our new baby girl. She looked so sweet on Easter Sunday. She got her first Pictures taken. We Celebrated Logan's 25th Birthday. I got him tickets to the Supercross and he and I got to go out on a date with out Autumn for the first time since she was born.
Autumn's first Easter, the Easter bunny brought her her very first toys, she is tiny next to them.

May- I started a new job at Olde Mill Salon. Logan quit his job at Wells Fargo because he got a job on Hill Air Force Base through school!
June- Logan had school off and so we just enjoyed our time together. We went swimming a lot and hung out with family and friends.

Sleeping after a swimBrooklyn and Autumn first swim together

July- I worked on the 4th of July so I missed the Kaysville Parade for the second year in a row, but Logan got to take Autumn to it and she got her first taste of the Kaysville celebrations. We all enjoyed the fireworks later that night. My sister Juli and he two cute kids came to Utah to visit and Autumn got to me her cousin Zeegan for the first time (they are 1 month apart).
Kaysville Fireworks on the 4th Autumn and cousin Zeegan
August-We went to Mexico with Logans family! We also moved out of our Centerville condo into Joy and Kevin's basement. Logan started back at Weber :( busy busy boy.

September- We celebrated my 22nd Birthday by going boating all day with Joy and Kevin and our good friends Emily and Colby Bell. My little brother James left for his mission, the Texas Huston South mission, spanish speaking.

October-We went out camping for the first weekend for one of Logan's races. I went to California with all of my sisters, except Rebecca who couldn't come, for a long weekend road trip. We had so much fun driving, eating, and visiting Juli and her family and old friends in Ramona. We had a fun first Halloween with Autumn, she was a pumpkin fairy. Logan was a scary clown and I was a witch.
November- My little brother John got baptized. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my family and fun crafts after with Logan's family.

December-Logan finished his semester at Weber with the best grades he has ever gotten. We had a really fun Christmas Party with our Friends.Logan taught me how to snowboard (I'm not that good, but getting better...we've been three times this month.) We had a wonderful Christmas that started at our house. Presents upstairs with Logan's mom's side. Lunch in Tooelle with Logan's Dad's family and dinner at my parents house. We spent the last hours of this year in the company of the Bells watching "Knight and Day". It's been a great year!
